Veteran DJs Faust and Shortee form the four turntable monster that is Urban Assault. The Hollywood based duo have launched two labels, put out a ton of mixes, and even recorded instructional DVDs, yet they still fine time to consistently produce chart-topping tunes. Today they were even nice enough to drop a free Drumstep remix of Razat's Bass Overload. Chicago based Electro House producer Lucky Date has become quite a big name lately, originally rising to prominence posting production tutorials and sample packs on Youtube, he is now traveling across the country opening for Excision's 50 date X-tour. Yesterday he dropped one of his best mixes to day, an original titled I Want You. This track marks the first time Lucky Date has ever sampled his own vocals, which he heavily effected and fit perfectly with a collection of epic rising synths to build to a drop filled with his signature Electro bass. It's great to see Lucky Date get a little more complex with his tracks and I hope he puts out more like this in the future. Sit back, turn up the bass and get fully immersed!
Some of you may remember when I featured Colorado based Electro House Producer James Egbert his remix of Blood on the Dancefloor's Party On, and today he's back with an all new original mix - Back To New! This one builds with a vocal sample and a big house intro that drops into a relentless collection of Electro, almost Dubstep, basses and synths that are sure to pulverize some subwoofers. I personally love this kind of Electro House and after Porter Robinson's latest productions have stayed from this style its good to see Egbert carrying it on and continuing to kill it with every new cut! Was it amazing? In some ways, but mostly it was exactly what I expected it to be – two hours of hard electro bass, plenty of champagne and a LOT of bananas! Red Cube went all-out on this one and converted one of the Bohemia Warehouse's large rooms into a respectable main stage, complete with plenty of lasers, lights and a few scantily clad GoGos, for the Swedish duo to tear up. An adjacent room housed a smaller visual set up, but had some huge eardrum-rattling subwoofers for a nights worth of bass music capped by EDM mogul Dieselboy.

Repping for independent Colorado label MHSM, Frequent-C enlists the help of rapper Kruza Kid to deliver a bass-filled hip-hop track with tons of swagger and relentless flows from Kruza. If you're a fan of bass music or hip-hop in general you've got to check this one out, can't deny the laid back Colorado style with just enough of Frequent-C's jazz influence!
Dutch Electro House Producer R3hab has been quickly rising up the ranks over the past few months. With Smash hits like Sending My Love w/ Swanky Tunes and an almost constant stream of high-quality remixes, he is showing no signs of slowing down. Released yesterday, his remix of Cassie's King of Hearts has already garnered 20,000 plays on Soundcloud and is hanging out on the top songs from the site. The track incorporates R3hab's brand of huge Dutch/Electro house basses over Cassie's original track to create a song with wild energy that bursts forth from a relaxing build. This one is sure to be tearing up clubs and major DJs sets for months to come, kick back, turn up the bass and get fully immersed!
Usually I wouldn't share a track that just got uploaded to UKF, but I can't help myself. I've been a huge fan of Finland based 501 for a long time and after being personally praised by Snoop Dogg and releasing music through both Chase and Status and Never Say Die it seems he's finally getting the recognition he deserves. Although his style has changed over time, 501 is currently producing expertly mixed dubstep that tends to include elements and soundscapes from all sorts of genres. This track, Ft. Belle Humble on vocals, is a great example as it includes huge melodic synths and ridiculously high energy basses that are sure to bring any house down! Its a rare occurrence these days that I get truly excited about an up-and-coming artist, but Australia's Kombat certainly deserves the affection. His latest EP, titled Follow Me Down, combines Trance - Step, Grime and G Funk all on one release and shows the production skill of someone with twice his experience. All three tracks on the EP are great, but I can't get enough of We Ridin. I'm not usually a big fan of Messinian, but through a perfect combination of beat and flow he actually makes this track. The G funk feel is reminiscent of Dr. Dre and I can't help but think about the late Nate Dogg every time I hear this track. As far as the more EDM portions of the track, the basses are extremely hard hitting and work extremely well over the driving breaks that are sure to make any dancefloor pop off. This cut is a triumph of genre mixing, so sit back, crank up the bass and get fully immersed!
Los Angeles based Bass Music producer ChrisB (Not to be confused with Curtis B) has proven himself one of Simplify Records biggest assets. After releasing a stellar Mixtape a month ago titled Memekast Mk065, Chris is back with this remix for fellow Simplify artist Stephan Jacobs. Instead of trying to one up the in-your-face original mix, Chris chilled it out a bit, added a melodic piano line and kicked the glitch-hop feel of the track into overdrive. If you've been following EDM at all the last few months you probably already know about the internet Dubstep sensation that is Adventure Club. Less than two weeks after the Montriel duo released their first original Do I See Color, they are back with another remix -- this time of Foxes's Youth. If you've heard AC's remixes of Metric, Lips, or Flight Facilities you should know what to expect from this one. Heartfelt female vocals are blended with melodic, yet powerful, bass and again we have a remix that girls will be loving and everyone will be singing along to. Personally I think Adventure Club is starting to beat this style of remix to death and their sounds are starting to get a bit repetitive, but their skill is still impressive. The other day I posted the latest single from Break Science, a collaboration between Former Pretty Lights drummer Adam Deitch and Producer Borahm Lee, and today they released their full EP Monolith Code. The EP is a unique blend of glitch hop, heavy bass, breaks and tons of samples that has a great groove. My favorite track off the 6-track release has to be the opener -- Forest of Illumination. The laid back synths and samples work perfectly with the glitch hop feel and deep wobbling bass to create a song that would have even the most closeted EDM fan bobbing their head. Anytime the homie Derek Vincent Smith, aka Pretty Lights drops off a new song, it is like a Christmas Present regardless of the season. This christmas present is not only nicely wrapped, but has a bow on top. Not only is it a new PL song, but includes an incredibly captivating and moving video filmed and edited by the man himself. It brings back his old feel on releases like Taking Up Your Precious Time, but brings in vibes from parts of his other albums and EP's too. In the past they have worked with many their fellow PLM artists and hip-hop artists like Talib Kweli to deliver an energetic, bass-filled sound that is truly unique. Yesterday, they decided to give their fans a taste of their latest EP Monolith Code with the single -- Victory. Just in case your in the mood for something heavier than Netsky's D&B today, I've got you covered. Subvibe, a project created by two British university students, is well known for infusing bangin' Dubstep with elements of Trance, D&B and many other genres. Yesterday they released their latest track, a remix of Enter Shikari's Solidarity, that takes Dubstep basslines and melds them with the rhythmic structure of the original metal beat. What results is a tune that may not please everyone, but if your a fan of Dubstep and / or Metal check it out (The breakdown starts at 2:50)! Turn this one up, rock out and get fully immersed!
Belgian Drum & Bass producer Netsky, best known for his remix of Rusko's "Everyday", released his latest single today -- Give & Take -- to build hype for his forthcoming album set to release later in 2012. The track is smooth liquid D&B track, but unlike most liquid it is intended to get the dancefloor moving! In true Netsky fashion, melodic synths, relaxing keys and rolling basslines work off punchy drums to deliver a song that is both chill and intense at the same time. Unfortunately I've been unable to post for a few days because of some issues with my computer, but today I'm back in full force. To make up for the absence, I've decided to kick every week off with a collection of great music to get your week started off right. This week is all Dubstep, with a few Drumstep tunes, but in the future there may be some more genre diversity. Can't go wrong with this one, especially because its free!
Starting things off is a huge new track from Polish D&B / Electro Dubstep producer Xilent. Fresh off the release of his well received Skyward EP, Xilent has been tearing it up with a well refined sound that incorporates elements from a variety of genres. His latest, Clear Your Mind uses euphoric vocals, melodic synth washes, powerful drums and tons of bass to deliver a truly high class tune.
Next up is Figure with his Dubstep vision of XV's Gobstopper Ft. Wiz Khalifa. While Dubstep Hip-Hop songs tend to be light on the Hip-Hop and heavy on the Dubstep, Figure manages to incorporate verses from both rappers over a bass-filled beat. If you don't know who Kaskade is by now, you should. The 40 year old (yes you read that right) House mega-producer has been making music for decades and he offers some of the most refined Big room, Electo and Progressive House available today. While he regularly releases massive original mixes, he also does a tremendous amount of mash-ups and remixes: blessing each with his expert knowledge. A few days ago he released this one, a remix of R3hab & Swanky Tunes - Sending My Love. Taking the already successful original mix and incorporating portions of three separate remixes, Kaskade injects the track with his compositional mastery creates HUGE big room banger that could rock even the largest arenas. It's not to often you see a side project stemming from a producer and a female vocalist. Although when it does happen, it is usually a treat. Yesterday pairofarrows, a side project between up and coming Los Angeles producer R/D and talented vocalist Swan. Swan is well known for her beautiful vocals that fit perfectly with The Glitch Mob original track, "Between Two Points," off their masterpiece release, Drink The Sea. The two have worked together in tracks in the past titled, "Wishbone," and, "Miles To You," to much acclaim, and decided teaming up together was their best move. Enjoy!
Its been a while since I've gotten a huge Electo-House anthem up, but today I intend to change that. Denver based Electro-House producer James Egbert first burst on the EDM scene in 2011 and has been putting out high-quality tracks ever since. With over six years of professional experience producing music, its no wonder that his tunes have no problem climbing the Beatport charts. By themselves, Nit Grit and Stephen Jacobs are both well respected producers of high quality bass music, but when they band together they form -- Pizza Party! First debuting their brand of meaty, cheesy bass with a self-titled EP in June of 2011, Pizza Party has refined their game and is set to release a new EP -- Deep Dish -- tomorrow (Jan. 17). Anticipating the release, Grit and Jacobs have been nice enough to preview a second track off Deep Dish titled Game Over. As to be expected, the new track is an explosion of melodic synths, grinding basslines, glitches and powerful drums that will get you ragin'. I've been watching 19 year old producer TIMarbury for some time now and he never fails to impress. His latest track, Armity, is a collaborative effort with old friend NIGHTkilla and its a BANGER! A smooth melody opens the track, but it is quickly drown out by a hard hitting combination of screaming electro bass and dubstep wobbles that is sure to give any speakers a workout. Ianborg is a Canadian producer who is coming up quickly in the EDM scene. He has less than 300 likes on Facebook, but has songs on his Soundcloud with large amounts of plays. One of these is a remix of Coldplay's masterpiece, Paradise, which has almost 40,000 plays. He has also remixed artists such as Florence and the Machine, Nero, and Foxes. His calm melodic style brings a nice touch to the songs he remixes, while also bringing to the table a long list of originals, like this one titled Expectations. Oh...My. I've found something amazing. 18 year old glitch-hop producer Cryptex is producing some of the best glitch hop/dubstep you'll be likely to hear. His latest, a remix of Skrillex's Bangarang, takes the relatively generic Skrillex track and infuses it with a whole new groove. Between an extremely energetic beat, well placed samples from some of Skrillex's most notable works and an irresistible glitch hop feel -- this is one of the best remixes I've heard in a long time. Oregon native Ananda Goldsmith, aka Dj Toast/Golden Toast, has been constantly improving over the past year. The Ashland Dj/Producer has been able to find a good balance between a heavy and melodic feel to his songs, and the effect has created a slew of good releases. He put out his "Comatoast" EP just over a week ago, and continues to put out solid songs. On this release, he takes on a classic Thievery Corporation track. Today I've got a sick EP minimix from two of the most under-appreciated producers I know - Frequent C and The Candyman. These Colorado based musicians birthed the collaborative project Crushendo that offers a bass filled sound drawing influence from a wide range of genres. With jazz inspired melodies, sub-bangin' bass, hip - hop acapellas and glitchy samples galore some may class their music Hip - Hop Dubstep, but they prefer to call it Intelligent Bass Music. This mix, which contains previews of all the tracks on their Drop Logic EP (Forthcoming Feb 15th on Simplify Recordings), maintains the same style as their incredible Living Dreams EP and takes the production to an even high standard. DnB / Dubstep producer Noisestom let this brand new one slip today claimed it "didn't meet the same standard" as the rest of the tracks forthcoming on his new EP. If this amazing track didn't meet the standard, I can't wait to see the whole release! With major Monstercat releases already under his belt, he has proven he can take on many different genres - often even blending them together. Originally solely a Drum and Bass producer, its great to see him return to his roots in a big way on this one while still including some chill, yet grinding, basslines. We all need to relax and prepare on a friday morning and this is a great track to get you in the mood. Sit back, relax, and get fully immersed!
I love Coyote Kisses for so many reasons, and if you don't - you will soon. Every track that childhood friends Bryce Bresnan and Joseph Sussingham have put out recently has strengthened my hope for the future of dubstep and dance music in general. They bring a musical complexity and experimental nature to their tunes that isn't found in even the most noteworthy of superstar DJs. Some may claim its a bit early in Coyote Kisses' career for me to be showering them in so much praise, but with the release of their highly regarded original "Acid Wolfpack" and now their absolutely killer remix of John William's Binary Suns there is no doubt in my mind that this duo will continue to grow in both skill and popularity.
Most EDM producers making a remix these days are content throwing a few basses under the original, changing up the beat or arrangement and calling it good. That is anything but the case with this remix. It includes an absolute myriad of unique synths, basses and rhythms that weave in and out of the original score with effortless flow. If they ever remake A New Hope (and I'm sure they eventually will) I hope this one makes it on the soundtrack!

If you like the Morgan Page classic Fight for You or Big Room House in general, there is an extremely good chance you'll love this bootleg. House producer Odmark and mashup artist HOHME teamed up to give this one some huge synths and a big room beat that take it to a whole new level. Vocalist Lissie's euphoric voice is the only thing majorly reminiscent of the original, but it is sampled so well you may imagine it was intended for this mix. Morgan Page himself even shared the bootleg, which speaks much more for the track then I ever could. So sit back, crank up your speakers and get fully immersed!

Get ready for a super heavy bass drop, brought to you tonight by Orlando based dubstep producer KillaGraham (get it?). After a few releases on major labels and growing support from major DJs worldwide, KillaGraham has really hit his stride. I'm a fan of most of his productions, but the quality of his latest, Drop it, is that of a producer with years more experience. The beat is extremely high energy, the bassline is both heavy and danceable, and the whole mix will make your subs wonder why they haven't been bumped like this before. If ever your looking for a banger to infuse any situation with a burst of energy - this is the one. So turn your speakers up, crank up the bass and get fully immersed!
The one track that gave me hope on Skrillex's recent Banagarang EP was Summit. I'd heard the track while it was still called Breathe and now it even featured the wonderful Ellie Goulding! How could that go wrong?
Well it did. Through a nauseating amount of repetition and overall poor composition (Goulding's only verse arbitrarily pasted in the middle of the piece) I feel like the song was one of the biggest failures on the Ep. Holding out hope that someone may come along and fix things up, I've finally found a remix that does the song's potential justice. Colorado based producer Yh, best known for a Monstercat VIP release Part Two, recently teamed up with fellow producer Hollidayrain to inject Summit with some electro and trance flavor. This version much more prominently features Goulding's amazing vocals and is great for relaxing or getting the party started. Get fully immersed!
Seven Lions a.k.a Jeff Maltavo has been an interesting producer to watch grow in the last few months. His music is strongly rooted in dubstep tradition, but he also tries to bring in elements of trance and a progressive style to his sound. Until recently his releases have been hit or miss, but it appears he’s finally come out of his musical shell and established an attractive style. Relying on highly refined basses and complex composition, his tracks still pull in elements from many genres and manage to captivate listeners throughout their dramatic movements. Much like he did in his incredible remix of Oceanlab’s Sattelite (which I’ve also linked), Maltavo has brought his ever-improving talents to the Above and Beyond classic You Got to Go. The remix begins with the original trancy pads and soaring vocals of Zoe Johnston from the original mix, but soon begins to differ in both arrangement and beat. Before long it drops into a hard hitting, yet smooth, flurry of bass that perfectly complements the piece. This one certainly doesn't make it hard to get fully immersed!
If Seven Lions continues the style and ability he’s displayed in his last two remixes, he’s well on his way to becoming one of my favorite producers and could soon find himself in the national spotlight!
Above and Beyond Ft. Zoe Johnston - You Got to Go (Seven Lions Remix)
21 year old Dubstep producer Gemini has been making a big impact on the EDM scene since he released his Blue EP in early 2011. Since then, he has continued to put out solid tunes and released his EP titled Graduation in mid September. On his most recent release, he tackled Lana Del Ray's track Born to Die. An up and coming vocalist, Del Ray packs a punch with emphatic vocals and lyrics. This remix does the original justice, striking immediately with melodic synths and continuing to build throughout the song while perfectly incorporating Del Ray's vocals. Sometimes I come across such high quality music from a newer producer that I just have to feature them on the blog. Today that unique honor is being bestowed upon Canadian dubstep producer Tristam. Having released music for less than a year now, Tristam has already landed two tracks on the EDM label Monstercat Media and has continuously put out stellar productions.
As far as independent EDM labels are concerned, I'm a big fan of Monstercat. They have been a great platform for lesser known artists such as Arion and Noisestorm to gain a following and release their high-quality music to the masses. Tristam's latest release on the label entitled Follow Me is nothing short of a banger. Previously unreleased, Follow Me was voted to see release by Monstercat VIPs - and for good reason. All of Tristam's productions contain euphoric melodies and extremely hard hitting bass and Follow Me is no exception. Building with expertly chopped vocal samples, the track drops into a perfect storm of bass that is reminiscent of the high pitched bass lines found on Circus Records. From this, and his many other releases (two of which I've also included in this spotlight), its clear that Tristam could quickly become a producer to watch. Whether your raging by yourself or with a dance floor of hundreds, crank these one up and get fully immersed!
